英語中的陳述句

陳述句主要是用來說明事實、陳述看法、肯定或否定什麼。這種句子主要分為兩類:肯定陳述句和否定陳述句

一、肯定陳述句

陳述句在肯定事實時可以采用不同程度的肯定語氣。人們在肯定某項事實時往往采用一些委婉的詞語,使說話人所表示的態度或看法不那麼生硬,以達到更有禮貌、說話留有餘地的目的

1、婉轉語氣

表示婉轉語氣的詞語有:I'm afraid、if I'm not mistaken、if you please、if you don't mind 等

Teaching 15 hours a week, I'm afraid it's too much for me. 一個星期教 15 個小時,對我來說恐怕太多瞭

We have met before, if I'm not mistaken. 如果我沒記錯的話,我們以前見過

2、提建議

使用 It's useful to… 或 It's important to… 等可以用來提建議

It is useful to have a dictionary. 有一本詞典很有用

It's important to save money. 省錢很重要

It's easy to give advice. 給建議很容易

3、增加強調詞

常用的強調詞有:indeed、really、definitely、certainly、for sure、without any question、without doubt、virtually、surely、actually 等

Many people will certainly lose their jobs. 很多人肯定會丟掉他們的工作

Without any question, I'll come here tomorrow. 毫無疑問,我明天會來這裡

4、強調附加結構

可以強調附加結構來加強肯定

You've gone mad, you have. 你瘋瞭

That's a trap, that it. 那是個圈套

5、雙重否定

可以采用雙重否定,比較含蓄地加強肯定

She went to that place not infrequently. 她經常去那個地方 (= quite frequently)

This kind of result is not impossible. 這種結果不是不可能(= quite possible)

二、否定陳述句

1、be、助動詞、情態動詞

謂語動詞如果是 to be、助動詞、情態動詞時,在它們的後面加 not

We are not hungry. 我們不餓

Father is not reading the newspaper. 父親不是在讀報紙

He does not have a sister. 他沒有姐妹

He will not give you any help. 他將不會給你任何幫助

You must not go there alone. 你一定不要單獨去那裡

2、實義動詞

如果謂語動詞是其他實義動詞時,須在它的前面加 don't/doesn't

I do not know how to do. 我不知道怎麼做

He doesn't go there to see her often. 他不經常去那裡看她

We did not bargain for all this trouble. 我們沒料到會有這個麻煩事

We didn't have enough wheelbarrows to go round. 我們的手推車不夠用

3、have

如果 have 作“有”講,也可以在它後面加 not 構成否定式

I have not a violin. 我沒有小提琴

You have not got a bike, have you? 你沒有自行車,是嗎?

4、部分否定與完全否定

句子中如果有 all、both、very much、well 等詞時,用 not 一般構成部分否定;如果要表示完全否定,則通常使用 none、neither、not…at all 等

All of the toys were broken. 所有玩具都壞瞭

None of the toys were broken. 所有玩具都沒壞

5、否定詞

句中含有 little、few、too、hardly、never、neither、nor、seldom 等詞時,則視為否定句

Few houses remained after the earth quake. 地震之後沒剩下幾棟房子

A constant guest is never welcome. 常客令人討厭

Words can hardly describe how excited we were. 我們激動的心情難以用言語來形容

He is scarcely the right person for the job. 他根本不適合這工作
